Lignocellulosic biomass is a vast renewable resource. This means that any industry using this feedstock resource will not be constrained by lack of raw material. The R3TM process is robust and can fractionate most lignocellulosic feedstocks including wood, grasses and cereal straws.
Lignocellulosic biomass consists primarily of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Different biomasses have varying proportions of these components. R3TM produces crystalline cellulose from the cellulose portion, and green platform chemicals and their derivatives from the hemicellulose and lignin portions.
Currently, Blue Goose is using R3TM to process biomass with high cellusose content in order to maximize yield of crystalline products. High cellulose feedstocks include: brown pulp, kraft pulp, dissolving cellulose, recycled paper, pulpmill screening rejects, cotton linters, hemp and flax bast fibers.
