The R3TM Technology – Renewable Residuals Refining

The R3TM process fractionates lignocellulosic biomass into pure cellulose products, green platform chemicals, and their derivatives.  R3TM capably produces low hemicellulose bleached pulp, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), or cellulose nanocrystals (CNC).  Instead of fractionating biomass by brute force (high temperatures, highly corrosive chemicals), the R3TM process instills an oxidative, nano-catalytic process to achieve the same result. A key advantage of the R3TM technology is the simplicity of the design allowing the use of commercially available “off-the-shelf” equipment. This strategy reduces costs, minimizes risk, and shortens the timeline to bring innovative applications to market. The result is a scalable, environmentally friendly, and widely applicable method for generating high value products from biomass.
